THE PANZER MYTH — Why German Tanks Weren’t Actually That Good

INTRO — German Tanks Look Amazing. They Performed Terribly.

German tanks have a reputation so strong that they’ve basically become the Lamborghinis of WWII:

  • sleek

  • intimidating

  • engineered to perfection

  • worshipped by gamers

  • starring in 10,000 YouTube videos with dramatic orchestral music

But there’s just one problem:

The reality of Panzer performance in WWII is a disaster compared to the myth.

The Tiger, the Panther, the “invincible” German armored spearhead?

Most of the time, they broke down, ran out of fuel, got stuck in mud, or were abandoned by their own crews because they simply didn’t work.

Today we’re going to break the myth — using history, logistics, production numbers, and battlefield performance.
